How to quit porn (confession of a pornoholic)
I first watched porn when I was in 6th grade. It was in German style. However, I didn’t watch porn for a long time after that because my parents didn’t have a VCR. However, my brother bought a “Zhiton” game console. I fell in love with this thing. So I spent my time playing Super Mario, Jey Jow, and other games.
I played a lot. A LOT. My vision started to get worse. Within a few years, my eyes were already -3. So there are two questions. First: what is better, PC games or porn? Second: what is better, watching porn or f*cking your brain? And an additional question: what is porn?
What is porn?
Pornography (often shortened to porn or porno) is the portrayal of sexual subject matter for the exclusive purpose of sexual arousal. Primarily intended for adults, pornography is presented in a variety of media, including magazines, art, literature, photography, audio, film, animation, and video games. |
So porn is an interesting thing that needs to be kept in check. And that’s very difficult to do when there is so much information available. There used to be less of it.
I remember when the internet first came around. That’s when I started watching porn (and Hollywood movies, which are also kind of like porn).
Even though I didn’t watch long sex scenes, and even though I skipped through them (only watching the climax), I still lost about 5 minutes. 5 minutes isn’t a lot, but I did this 3 times a day. Pornography was killing my youth, so I tried to give it up. But it was like a drug.
The situation changed when I started working at a marketing company in 2002. My computer monitor screen was facing the entire office where other people were working, so it would have been strange to watch porn during the day. EVERYONE WOULD SEE IT!
So we have come to the essential advice that will help anyone who wants to quit porn.
Oh yes, if you ask yourself, “How to stop watching porn?” here are two tips:
2 extreme tips on how to quit porn
1. Work in crowded places and spend less time in your home
This advice is suitable for everyone; those who work in the office all day and those who come home at night and watch xxx videos. This advice works like a magic wand and…
“Alex, enough advertising, give some f*cking advice how to quit porn!!!” readers will state.
Okay, do everything you can to make your computer screen face towards people. So that EVERYONE can see your screen! That’s how I broke the habit of watching those videos.
UNDERSTAND THAT THE MORE PEOPLE SEE YOUR SCREEN, THE BETTER.
Now, do you understand why I don’t work from home? Because there is a fridge and a big TV. I gained weight and lost it only because I stopped staying at home 24/7!
Therefore, if you find yourself at home due to the pandemic or other reasons, you need to change your work policy.
Already tried that, and it didn’t work?
I don’t know what your situation is. Maybe you work in a visible place, but colleagues rarely visit, so nobody looks at your screen, which creates many opportunities to watch xxx. But c’mon, there is a solution for this too. Every office should have a video camera. Change your workplace so that the camera can see what you are doing on the computer. I know you don’t want to, but there is no other way if you want to change your habits.
Oh yes, hang a video camera behind you and broadcast everything 24/7. Trust me, you will quickly get rid of pornoholism (porn addiction)! Make it happen!
This is the best advice you can get.
“Wait a minute, Alex, reality is different! I am going home and I am alone there. The camera set up there won’t help. I don’t even have money to buy a video camera! So how to solve it?” someone may complain. I understand. After coming home to an empty house, you want to climb the walls. That’s why you need activities, people. Join a men’s club. Or create one yourself. Move more. Spend less time at home if you are alone. And if you have a wife, but your hand still wants to press “watch sexy video,” then don’t blame yourself for it. A little video is not bad. But the less, the better. And yes, don’t blame yourself if you watch xxx once a month or once a week. I don’t think it’s bad. But it’s foolish to waste time (even 5 minutes) on that crap every day. There’s just no point. That’s why I repeat, occupy yourself with various activities and work more often in the presence of other people!
“But I want privacy!!!” porn slaves will think. I will ask a question to dear porn slaves. Answer me, do you think that while watching porn, you are not being tracked? Every click you make is being tracked! Even if you use VPN!
If my ideas don’t appeal to you, go to Google and type in “how to stop watching porn right now.” You will get a ton of scabby, snotty tips. Some bloggers will suggest turning off the internet or finding a woman, but this doesn’t guarantee success. Many men who have women watch porn even more than before because they don’t get what they want. Others will suggest that you subscribe to xxx film blocking systems on your mobile, but you will unblock them yourself…
Therefore, you need drastic changes! Your actions must be specific, and the fewer snots there are, the better.
What I’m suggesting is to approach the issue of porn addiction in the same way as quitting cocaine—NOW OR NEVER.
So, how will you act?
How will you quit porn?
Will you change your habits? Because the actions I suggest will help you in overcoming porn addiction!!!
“But maybe there is another advice?” you will ask.
Okay, I can give you one more piece of advice.
2. Become bored of xxx by watching as many as possible
This advice is very extreme. I don’t recommend using it without the help of a psychologist. However, I believe it can work. Just a warning, this advice is not suitable for cocaine users (and drug addicts, alcoholics). This advice should also not be used by those who have cardio problems.
So here’s a tip: turn on porn and watch it all day. Watch it the next day as well. Watch as much as you can. Watch so much that you get sick of it. I repeat, this is an extreme tip, so you must be extremely careful. Because Dr Mary Sheppard once had a patient who probably died from watching pornography, as he had a weak heart. Therefore, he suffered a cardiac arrest.
I quote the words of the psychologist: “Any kind of excessive stress or excitement could have brought on serious erratic heartbeat. So, yes, that could have been a factor.”
However, if you don’t have any heart problems and if you consult with a professional psychologist, they may still allow you to try this method (or possibly suggest a better one).
Anyway, once I read an article about how a father discovered that his son smoked. And he forced his son to smoke one pack at once. I’m not saying this is the right way, but it’s said that the child stopped smoking after this incident. Who knows, maybe it was the opposite, and the child started smoking more. We don’t know, but I tried this method with online games.
I already told you that I was a gameholic (game addict). I played for about 5 years. Once, this habit of playing, playing and playing fed up me. And I decided to play too much. So I played, played and played. Day and night. And I get bored! I deleted games, and until now, I don’t want them.
So, if this advice doesn’t sound good to you and you still wonder how to stop looking at porn and want to break the habit of playing and ogling pornographic content, you can try using tip no. 1, related to cameras!
“No, Alex, I’m thinking here that I’m going to keep watching xxx for 3 hours a day, because it doesn’t hurt!” John from Boston will say. I suggest he look into 3 reasons why it’s worth quitting porn as soon as possible.
3 reasons why is porn bad for you
1. Porn can cause erectile dysfunction
If you don’t need healthy relationships, then okay, don’t change anything. However, research conducted by scientists suggests that pornography can affect the brain like drugs. In the long run, only hardcore scenes can induce erections in men and arousal in women. So, is it really worth sacrificing your sexual health for video viewing?
2. Porn steals your time and isolates you
The more you watch porn, the less time you will have for real actions and wonderful life. Isolation, in order to hide your secret hobby, can also cause other psychological problems, such as anxiety and difficulty creating an intimate connection with the other half.
3. The more porn you watch, the bigger consumer you become
Don’t be a consumer, be a creator. This doesn’t mean you have to make porn and film everything, but there are much cooler things to do than watch other people have sex. I repeat, by watching what others do, you become a consumer. The more you watch what others do, the less valuable you become. If you want to increase your value, spend more time creating products and services, not watching videos, movies and…
Culmination
So, dear friend, overcoming porn addiction is not easy, but you must try. And don’t forget, always consult with your doctor about the safety of chosen methods. Oh yes, if the question “how to quit porn?” arose to you, talk more often with psychologists. They are nice guys.
