Why some people are not grateful for what they have

By

The 21st of September passed, the day of gratitude.

Why don’t people around you know how to thank and be grateful to the world

This day is celebrated annually on the 21st of September. But this year, the world has not talked about gratitude. Pop TV shows, pop stars, and news sites have forgotten gratitude day… They spoke mainly about Biden and Putin but not about the day of gratitude. This is strange because once researchers conducted a survey and found that 99% of those respondents believed that gratitude is a very important thing. Therefore, the question arises. If 99% of respondents think gratitude is important, why do so few thankful people surround us?

Or maybe I’m wrong, and there are many grateful people? Then answer. Why do so many seniors regret that they didn’t say good words to their loved ones on time? Why do they regret not having time to say thank you?

After all, why are there so many people in New York who think they have bad luck in life?

Why do we rarely find people who express their gratitude out loud? Why do we rarely hear people say, “I’m happy because I have the opportunity to breathe air! Because I can walk.”

Why for heaven’s sake are we surrounded by so many people who keep complaining?

So people can neither thank themselves nor others, nor this grandfather above us, nor the world!

Five reasons why some people are not grateful for what they have

1. People don’t see the benefit of being grateful—or they don’t give special thanks!

Imagine that you are doing something good for another person. He seems to like to express his gratitude, but he thinks, “Hmmm, so what if I thank you? Maybe he’ll think he’s too good and stop doing good things? Maybe I better not thank him!”

People like to postpone their actions. Some people still want to confess their love but are afraid… They think that maybe…

2. We put everything aside for the next time.

Let’s recall the main character of Desperado. He loved to ask, Did I thank you?

Thank you

There are many such people. They put their gratitude aside for the next time. I want to shout such ones in their ears, “Hey, dear ones! There can be no next time! Express gratitude right away! Do it with all your heart!”

3. The Lapierre paradox.

The Lapierre paradox is that a person behaves differently from what they promised or think they will behave.

4. People can’t express their gratitude.

If gratitude had been taught in schools, things would have been a little different.

5. Thanking takes energy.

Yes, thanking requests effort. And people don’t like wasting energy.

6. Thanking is not fashionable.

Nowadays, gratitude is associated with weakness. It’s seen in schools. If the student is good with someone, they can start laughing at him. Because it’s too good, which means “sissy.”

Why you should be grateful

A study by Tsang on the study of materialism and happiness found that the level of happiness and satisfaction directly depends on how grateful you are, so the researchers found, “Materialists are less happy in part because they find it harder to be grateful for what they have.”

I could make many references to studies into the meaning of EXPRESSING gratitude (and not just being grateful). That’s why there are people who fill out gratitude journals, blogs.

What is a gratitude journal?

Gratitude journals are a relatively new trend in self-help, but one that is catching on quickly. The idea is simple: every day, you write down three things you’re grateful or thankful for. These can be anything from a person, material object, or pet—anything you have a positive association with.

Why do people use gratitude journals?

Gratitude has been proved to be beneficial to one’s mental health, increase optimism and happiness, reduce feelings of envy and resentment, strengthen relationships, give you a more positive outlook on life, motivate altruistic behavior, lessen symptoms of depression and anxiety, lower blood pressure (which is excellent for your heart), decrease stress levels… the list goes on.

Gratitude has even been shown to make you more creative because it gives you a novel outlook on things (novelty is often linked with creativity). Often when we’re stuck in the same old rut, looking at our world with fresh eyes can help us break through barriers and solve problems. Grateful people are constantly re-examining their circumstances and looking at the bright side of life.
